Time To Suit Up

When we entered a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we became members of God’s family and kingdom. As a result, we also became targets of God’s enemy who is Satan (aka the devil). This means the devil wants to cause as much destruction in our lives as possible between now and the time God executes final judgement on him and his kingdom. Now the thought of having Satan and his kingdom as an enemy can tempt us to live in fear. However, we must remember they are a defeated enemy despite their power and influence in this world.

Our Lord Jesus has already defeated Satan through His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave. Therefore, we too have victory over Satan through our position in Christ. But to experience that victory in our daily lives, we must put on the full armor of God described by Paul in Ephesians 6. May the Lord help us use His weapons to experience victory over Satan and his kingdom.

Ephesians 6:10-13

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. (New Living Translation)
